The first session is an intake assessment, which typically lasts about 60 minutes. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I'll ask about what brings you to therapy, your background, your goals, and any relevant history. You'll also have a chance to ask me questions and get a sense of whether we feel like a good fit. This is a collaborative conversation to help us build a foundation for our work together.

Individual therapy sessions are typically 45 to 53 minutes. Couples and family therapy sessions are 53 minutes. The initial intake session is approximately 60 minutes. Session frequency is something we'll discuss together based on your needs — most clients begin with weekly sessions.

Yes! As a PSYPACT-authorized psychologist, I offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions to clients located in any of the 42 PSYPACT member states and jurisdictions. Virtual therapy provides the added convenience of connecting from wherever you are most comfortable. All you need is a private space and a device with a camera and internet connection.

I am currently in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna/Evernorth, Independence Blue Cross (IBX), Highmark, Medicare, and Quest Behavioral Health. If I am not in-network with your plan, I can provide a superbill for you to submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I recommend calling the number on your insurance card to verify your specific mental health benefits before your first session. Visit the Fees & Insurance page for more details.

Individual therapy sessions are $175 and couples/family therapy sessions are $250. If you are using insurance, your out-of-pocket cost will depend on your specific plan, copay, and deductible. See the Fees & Insurance page for full details, including the cancellation policy and accepted payment methods.

I require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. A fee of $100 applies for sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice or for no-shows. I understand that life happens, and I try to be flexible when possible — but this policy helps ensure that appointment times remain available for all clients.

The duration of therapy varies from person to person and depends on your goals, the nature of the concerns you're working through, and how you respond to treatment. Some clients find relief in a few months of focused work, while others benefit from longer-term therapy that allows for deeper exploration and lasting change. We'll regularly check in on your progress and adjust our approach as needed.

Yes. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. What you share in sessions stays between us, with a few specific legal exceptions (such as imminent risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, or a court order). I will always discuss the limits of confidentiality with you during our first session so you feel fully informed and comfortable.

If you're asking this question, that's often a sign that therapy could be helpful. Therapy is for anyone who wants to better understand themselves, improve their relationships, work through a difficult period, or simply have a safe space to process life. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. If you're unsure, I'm happy to have a brief conversation to help you decide.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), go to your nearest emergency room, or call 911. I am not an emergency or crisis service and cannot guarantee availability outside of scheduled session times. If you need to reach me between sessions for non-emergency matters, you may contact me by phone or email and I will respond as soon as I am able during business hours.
